i have struggled for years to find the perfect routine for my skin and i think i have finally found it! i used to think that i needed tons of products to get nice skin but boy was i wrong.. i replaced my 15 step routine with this 3 step routine about a month ago and it has done WONDERS for my skin.
please note: i am not a skincare professional. if you have concerns, please speak with a licensed dermatologist.
my skin type
- oily with dry patches
- red blotches
what this routine has done for my skin
- reduced oil production
- reduced breakouts*
- reduced redness
- reduced puffiness
- created a healthy glow
what to use
- jojoba oil
- geranium essential oil
- rose quartz roller
what to do
- after showering, drop a few drops of the essential oil and about a dime size amount or less of jojoba oil on finger tips
- rub fingertips together and gently rub it onto face
- starting at the jaw line, roll the rose quartz roller over the face in an outward, downward motion; you can do this for as long as you want! i typically do it anywhere from 2 to 30 minutes (check out this youtube video for a demo; this is the technique i found and now follow).
i like to do this before bed as the geranium and whole massaging process is very relaxing but it really just depends on when i shower. i personally would not substitute the jojoba oil as this oil is the closest to our natural sebum and any heavier oil may cause breakouts (for me, coconut oil definitely is a no-no on my face!). the geranium oil can be subbed, just make sure to do your research and use a high quality oil. you can also use a jade roller, i personally prefer the benefits of rose quartz.
this is the only moisturizing routine that i do and i only do it after i shower. if there is any dirt or residue left from the day, this routine may cause breakouts. remember, what works for me may not work for everyone, please use caution.
*this is not a cure-all for acne. i still breakout due to hormones and dietary factors but this definitely has helped so much and now i can predict my breakouts.
